VeluneOS Compare · External Beta

Compare two runs.
See what changed.

Compare a known-good Reference Run with a Target Run and surface structural differences across your system — so you know where to look first.

VeluneOS Compare is currently External Beta — you may be asked for Beta access when you open it. Apply for access.

One structural difference, made visible.

Compare runs like you compare code — Reference in, Target in, the difference comes back structured and ready to inspect.

PERCEPTION · LIDAR Longest Update Gap
Reference 1000.0 ms
Target 1500.0 ms

Who It Is For

We are validating with these teams first.

We're starting with a small number of teams that have a clear Reference–Target comparison need, before opening this up more broadly.

Teams comparing before and after

Teams that need to identify which observations and investigation windows changed after software, configuration, or sensor updates

Teams manually reviewing repeated runs

Teams spending time replaying Reference and Target logs side by side to locate changes manually

Teams that cannot transfer raw logs

Teams that must keep raw logs internal while allowing only limited derived structures to be processed externally

How It Works

Prepare locally. Compare in VeluneOS.

Raw MCAP stays on your machine during preparation. Only one derived file — comparison.velune — is uploaded.

STEP 01

Reference Run + Target Run

Pick the run you're comparing from (Reference) and the run you're comparing against it (Target).

STEP 02

Prepare locally

Velune Adapter turns both runs into one comparison.velune file, on your machine. Raw MCAP never leaves it.

Download Velune Adapter

Beta Kit (.zip) — includes the Quickstart and both required packages. SHA256 included.

STEP 03

Upload comparison.velune

Upload the single prepared file to VeluneOS Compare.

STEP 04

Inspect structural differences

See what changed between Reference and Target, and where to look first.

COMPARISON BUNDLE

Derived structures that may be transferred after approval

  • Canonical Topic Role
  • Relative-time events and Evidence Windows
  • Gap, jitter, and count profiles
  • Structural features required for Reference–Target comparison
  • Context explicitly approved by the customer
STAYS LOCAL

Raw data not accepted by standard Cloud Comparison

  • Raw MCAP and rosbag2
  • Raw images, video, and audio
  • Raw point clouds and actual GPS
  • Actual topic and node names and absolute timestamps
  • Direct company, site, and robot identifiers

Exporter output is not automatically described as fully anonymous. During the initial Beta, Bundle structure and transfer boundaries are reviewed together with the customer.

Beta Operation

We validate the operating model first, then automate it.

Initial Private Beta

The Comparison Engine generates the report while a VeluneOS operator reviews input errors and execution status in a service-led operating model.

  • Pre-check Bundle schema and support eligibility
  • Handle Comparison Job failures
  • Review the quality of engine-generated reports
  • Collect engineer feedback
Automated operating model

The service evolves so customers upload Bundles directly and the server automates validation, comparison, reporting, feedback, and deletion.

  • Automated Reference–Target comparison
  • Report URL, JSON, and Markdown delivery
  • Organization access and retention controls
  • Operators handle exception jobs only

Beta Access

This information is used to assess Beta eligibility and supported log structures. Do not enter raw logs, access keys, personal data, or sensitive incident details in this application.

Both plans get the same comparison analysis. Free (Contribution Access): approved derived data may be used to develop, evaluate, and improve VeluneOS products and services, including aggregate or comparative analysis using approved data from multiple customers. Paid (Private Access): customer data is used only to provide and operate the requested VeluneOS service and is not reused to improve VeluneOS products or services.
